Marie Cloquet
Marie Cloquet (1976, Ghent) constructs landscapes by tearing and cutting up enlarged prints of rock formations, architectural elements or natural details. These collages are subsequently manipulated to seam the various images into new constellations. Her investigation of unlivable landscapes confronts the origins of photography with painting.
Recent solo exhibitions include: Jason Haam, London (2022), NO/Gallery, Ghent (2021) and Annie Gentils Gallery, Antwerp (2020 and 2019). In 2010, her solo exhibition Picture This took place at Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens. Recent group exhibitions have taken place, among others, at Galería Hilario Galguera, Madrid (2022), SMAK (2020) and Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens, in the frame of the Biennial of Painting (2018).
