Visual artist Karina Beumer presents her new publication Dagboek van een vervanger [Diary of a Substitute] in the Woning Van Wassenhove, as a result of her FABA Artist Residency in 2021.

Dagboek van een vervanger is the account of the 62,5 hours during which Karina Beumer was replaced as an artist by Annelein Pompe. In the summer of 2020, Karina Beumer sent out a vacancy to replace her for five consecutive weeks for a fee. Karina Beumer had become interested in working conditions, more specifically in her own shaky existence as a freelancer, and wanted to fire herself.
