New Year’s reception with Radio Pärt / Arvo Head
As is our annual tradition, we warmly invite you to raise a glass to the New Year on Sunday, January 26, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens.
Radio Pärt / Arvo Head, composed of Tim Vandenbergh, Serraphine Stragier, and Sep François, will provide a musical performance.
This trio shares their passion for vibrant music. With this program, they seek intimacy and tranquillity, using J.S. Bach’s Cello Suites as a starting point for a musical journey that can traverse various directions. Spanning from classical to world, jazz, and rock music, sometimes delving into experimentation (preferably in the twilight zone of it all), but always rooted in resonance and harmony...
The meditative simplicity of Estonian composer Arvo Pärt engages in dialogue with Radiohead, bridging the acoustic and the subtly electronic. There are improvisations around John Zorn’s klezmer-inspired themes interwoven with Frederik Neyrinck’s or Richard Reed Parry’s miniatures. Solo, in duet, or as a trio with occasional orchestral hints.
An honest, intimate concert for those who appreciate pure music. A quest by three musicians for unity in diversity.
• Seraphine Stragier - cello and Celtic harp
• Tim Vandenbergh - double bass and bass guitar
• Sep Francois - Marimba and Vibraphone
