Stilleven met schelpen, 1923
oil paint

Collection Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens
The painting, in predominantly purple-blue colours, depicts a table covered with shells. A white tablecloth with floral patterns covers the table. In contrast to most still lifes by Callewaert, the still life with shells is not gloomy, but with the warmer colours and the beautiful shell shapes it testifies to a certain joy.
