Tine Guns
Antichambre #4
Rocambolesco (2019) by Ghent-based artist Tine Guns is the fourth instalment of the ongoing Antichambre series of displays that focus on a single artwork from collectors’ lavatories.
Part of a series of images taken in Italy and published as Rocambolesco, the image captures, as Guns puts it, “a memory, a moment in Time”. By focusing on a child fully absorbed in her jump into the sea on an idyllic afternoon, the photograph performs the medium’s uncanny ability to stretch fleetingness into eternity.
